The Lincoln memorial is located in Washington D.C., and was built in honor of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the U.S. It was designed by Henry Bacon in the form of a Greek temple, been sculpted by Daniel Chester French, and all the interior walls
were painted by Jules Guerin. The building contains a considerable seated sculpture of Abraham Lincoln, with two famous speeches inscribed. It has also been the site of numerous famous speeches such as Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech in 1963. The memorial is pictured on the reverse of the Lincoln one cent coin.
The Washington Monument is a large white-colored obelisk at the west end of the National Mall in Washington, DC. It is a United States Presidential Memorial constructed for the first president of the United States, George Washington, who was the leader of the revolutionary Continental Army that won independence from the British after the American Revolutionary War.

The monument is made of sandstone, marble and granite. It was designed by Robert Mills, an American architect of the 1840s. The actual construction of the monument began in 1848, but was not completed until 1884, It officially opened to the public on October 9, 1888. Upon completion, it became the world's tallest structure at 169 m, a title it inherited from the Cologne Cathedral and held until 1889, when the Eiffel Tower was finished in France.
The Washington Monument's reflection can be seen in the aptly named Reflecting Pool, a rectangular reflecting pool extending to the west, towards the Lincoln Memorial.
